I’m Amanda. I’m the owner of From Page One and a developmental editor specializing in speculative fiction across a range of genres. Like you, I’ve had a deep love for storytelling for as long as I can remember. I have a Bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University. After graduating, I moved to Los Angeles to begin my career in the entertainment industry. For over 12 years I worked in talent and literary representation, film/television development, strategic publicity, and on-camera production.
One of the most impactful roles in my career was at Mitú where I was a part of the feature film and television development team. The company’s core mission centered around uplifting Latinx voices in the entertainment industry, both in front and behind the camera. I produced an all-female independent pilot, Beauty School, and an original series optioned by Youtube Originals, Long Distance, written by Janine Brito. In 2018, I Executive Produced an independent feature film with debut writer/director Chris Carmona called Instant Crush which debuted at the Hollywood Film Festival in 2019.
During my tenure at Wolf Kasteler Public Relations, I was lucky enough to work on multiple book publicity campaigns. First with Julianna Margulies’ memoir Sunshine Girl: An Unexpected Life and then with Tom Selleck on You Never Know: A Memoir. In 2018, the New York Television Festival nominated me to their Next Gen Committee where I judged their Independent Pilot Competition.
There is nothing more appealing than working directly with creators. From Page One was built to do more for authors. Through my small company I’ve been able to grow long lasting relationships and support independent writers in all areas of self-publishing. It’s hard enough out there without someone in your corner, and that’s who I love to be for my clients.
